I joined RenewEV in January 2022, and have since been involved in a number of community solar installations, conducted solar feasibility studies, and project managed ASHP heating system installations. I have learnt a lot in my time with RenewEV. Having come from a different industry, the amazing support I’ve had has allowed me to develop in my role and acquire many new skills along the way. With the flexible working hours, I have also been able to find a great work/life balance, which definitely helps with a young family.
Since joining RenewEV in December 2022, I have learnt a lot. My main focus is on community energy (in the forms of solar PV and wind), with some net-zero consultancy on various projects. I have improved my skills in logistics and coordination by organising renewable energy projects from start to finish. This includes contacting and visiting sites, to working closely with installers and solicitors to ensure the project is completed efficiently and in the community’s best interest. Working at RenewEV is rewarding as you can not only physically see the results of your time and effort, but you are also enabling the local community to tackle climate change together.
I joined RenewEV in May 2021 and since then I’ve been working with town councils, farm groups and mansion estates in reducing their carbon footprint. I had minimal experience of working in the renewable technology sector, but I have already learnt how to conduct site energy surveys, complete building heat load calculations, produce cost estimates for our solutions and designed a methodology for identifying potential commercial solar opportunities. On top of all the fascinating work, I have flexible working hours, amazing support from John and Alex and a lot of responsibilities that I would’ve never had if I was on a graduate scheme.
