Merryfield Farm is another good example of RenewEV’s standard process completed with farmers in the South-West. As Merryfield farm has some existing solar, RenewEV completed a feasibility study, looking into the potential for further solar PV, wind, and battery. Due to the existing array and expected demand on the local transformer, RenewEV also completed a process of grid liaison, to identify the required upgrade costs to the line, transformer and monitoring necessary before further renewable technologies could be installed. Taking these costs into account RenewEV modelled multiple scenarios to provide a future proofed on-site renewable system that delivered maximum long-term cost and carbon benefits. If installed this would make Merryfield Farm a Net Zero farm.
