03 Apr European Community Solar Award
Last month, Alex Lockton had the opportunity to go to Rome to collect the EUROSOLAR 2023 award on behalf of Bath & West Community Energy (BWCE). For the last few years, RenewEV have been supporting BWCE to deliver Community owned solar PV across several sites within Bath and surrounding areas.
To date, we have delivered ~1MWp for BWCE across a variety of sites, including Beechen Cliff school, which at 260kWp is the largest rooftop installation that BWCE have ever secured. Not only will this support the decarbonisation of the electricity grid, but it will also save the school a significant amount of money, for zero capital cost.
Looking forward to 2023, we have targets on delivering another 1MWp across more sites, not just schools, but also light industrial and commercial.
At RenewEV, we maintain our commitment to Community Energy, as a key part of a just transition away from imported fossil fuels and look forward to supporting all our Community Energy partners into 2023 and beyond.
